Hilarious!! One of my doxies, Rocky, runs downstairs everytime he hears me open the dryer and leaps into the nearest laundry basket in hopes of landing in warm laundry. The only problem is that sometime he leaps into an empty basket or a basket with cold, wet clothes in it…..he is not happy when that happens!!!
This picture reminds me of a poem that was in The Dachshund Club magazine, though in this case it was a washing machine and not a tumble dryer.
ONE OF OUR DACHSHUNDS IS MISSING
A cry of distress,
A yelp in the night,
Was one of my Dachshunds in a serious plight?
I waited a while, not a single peep,
With a sigh of relief,
I could go back to sleep.
The alarm rang out; it was time to arise,
Brew a nice cup of tea,
And refresh drowsy eyes.
Across the kitchen, four paws came a scurrying,
It was usually eight,
This was rather worrying.
The machine door, why it was flung back,
He’d deserted his basket,
For a new place to shack.
Entirely relaxed, head out of the drum,
Gazed my Long Haired Dachshund,
Not in the least bit glum.
“What’s all the fuss? Why take me out,
I’ve been cosy all night,
Of that I’ve no doubt”.
Secure in my arms, removed from his lair,
Silly sausage knows not,
He’s just “hand-wash with care”.
